well dogs like that are expensive…i have 4 dogs from small to big ones..and u know the biggest thing i’ve realized is that it doesnt matter how many toys or how much crap u buy them..in the end all they want id your company…they are basically like children…u gotta love them, gotta bathe them and feed them..take them to the vet…play with them..especially if they r pups cause they r e more like babies..u can shape them to b the way u want them but it s gonna take hard work, dedication…in other words are u ready to be a pet parent??? its not just about oh im gonna get a dog and then u abandon it..u really must think if u are responsible enough to take care of another life…yes its that serious…think about it.

We have a shitzu and they are great dogs. They take a little longer than some to poddy train but its worth it. They can be expensive. But make sure it has shots and papers. They need to be walked often and like to sit on your lap. They need a decent amount of attention.

well we do have a dog so i know a lot about dogs and i think you should first get or build a bed feed it everyday and always play with it, because if you don’t it will be lonely and you have to give it a bath for once or twice a week i don’t really know were to buy one but try the pet store.

It’s a huge resposibility. It’s like a baby. It cant feed itself (unless you put food out for it) It cant let itself out (unless you have a doggie door)
It’s defenseless. You need to give it plenty of attention and stimulation. It infuriates me when I see/hear of people who get animals/dogs and just keep them chained up outside 24/7.
Now this is a small dog that you want, so Im (hopefully) sure you wont do that, but it’s a big responsibility. You just cant pick up and go when you have animals to take care of, unless you have someone to dog sit every time.
They say getting dogs at stores like Walmart and ‘puppy mills’ is bad because of inbreeding and defects, but if you dont get it, no one will.
Shelters are the best bet. There are so many discarded, abused and neglected animals that need adopted.
Make sure it’s what you want!

Taking care of a dog is a big responsibility. You have to potty train them because they will do their pee pee and doo doo in your house. You must get them their neccessary shots which you must discuss with the vetinarian. If its a female dog- it will have its period so you must get her operated so it stops. A male-dog you should get it neutered. The best places are at an animal shelter. there more affordable. Avoid pet stores because their highly expensive and they usually come from a puppy mill which means they can be sick. Most shelters and rescues already tested the dogs to see if they’re agressive and most are very loving. The prices range.. some could be free to a 100-300 dollars. It just depends where you go.

They are alot cheaper at the pound…. And yourr saving their lives.

They need to be walked daily or more if required. They need to be fed twice a day. And they can’t be left alone for 2 hours whilst young… too many things to say just go onto a website like http://coloursplash.yolasite.com

    and look on homework help…

HOPE THAT I HELPED… GOOD LUCK!

Please remember that it is a huge responsibility to get a dog and it will not always be the cute puppy it is now. A small breed dog can live 20 years or more. The dog needs to have shots at 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 6 months and then every year. The dog needs space to run and toys to chew. You will have a lot of chewed shoes and you will have to pick up a lot of poop. Dogs need attention everyday. If your dog gets sick, vets bills can be expensive. Keep all of that in mind when buying a puppy.
dogs are also fantastic companions. They will always love you unconditionally. It is well worth the negatives.
Make sure you buy the puppy from a reputable place and see the parents if possible. Pure bred dogs can be expensive. Perhaps you would consider adopting from an animal shelter in your area? It is cheaper and you would be giving a much needed home to a neglected puppy.

You have to feed the dog and also fill the water bowl once or twice a day. You have to apply flea drops about once a month to the back of the neck and on down the spine. WalMart is the best place to buy flea drops. They can be expensive other places ($20 for 3). It’s less than half that at WalMart. Get the dog neutered if she is a girl before she goes into heat (about 6 months old or so). You have to give the dog a bath every few months. You may have to walk the dog on a leash every time he has to pee. That’s about the only chore that can be tiresome. Mostly, dogs are lots of fun and very loving, like a member of the family. And, you may want to train the dog. I would look in shelters for a dog. The wanted ads in the newspaper used to be a good place to find dogs for sale. Craigslist.org probably is the place to find ads for dogs for sale these days. PetSmart or any pet shop may also be a good place to look.

Taking care of your own dog is pretty much like taking care of a brother or sister. Since you’re gonna be the owner, you’d be like his/her mom. So make sure you’re really determined to get a dog before actually getting one.

Basically, you’ll need to feed it once a day if you use commercial dog food. just read the package instructions for the amount of food you need to feed it. But since you’re aiming for a shih-tzu, it’d fall into the “Toy Dog” category or the smallest category. It needs to be fed less than the average sized breeds.

Be careful not to overfeed or underfeed it. Overfeeding results in obesity while underfeeding results in starvation and behavioral problems.

Proper food is key to keeping your dog in prime condition. Avoid feeding it fish products or seafood or it may stink. Dogs are carnivorous in nature so they like meat and bones. The Usual dog chow will do but it’d help if you give it occassional treats.

Amongst the favorite organic treats are bones. If your mom cooks soup with chicken bones, get the leftover bones and feed it to the dog. They like fatty pig parts too.

If your stake has fat, better carve the cooked fat off and give it to your dog. And they go crazy over Bacon. Hehehe.

It would be nice if you could provide for it a doggie bed. Putting a Shih-tzu in a dog house could also be done but they’re just too cute to leave outside the house.

Make sure to take your dog for a walk regularly. Walk it every morning so it could make boom boom and be sure to scoop it afterwards if you live in the US depending on the prevailing rules and regulations of the community.

Make sure to give it pure organic love. The dog feels sad if you leave it unnoticed. Play with it. Make it feel loved.

Visits to the vet is good. Make sure it has been properly dewormed and vaccinated.

Regular baths are a must. About once a week would be fine but consider the weather. If its cold, your dog could freeze. You could use lukewarm water.

Rinse it gently. No sudden water splashes. Most home dogs aren’t very happy with baths. Use a decent dog soap. Not laundry soap. And since its would be a shih-tzu, make sure you shampoo it afterwards.

Dogs don’t really like to play dress-up but if that’s what makes you happy, it’d be happy just knowing you’re happy.

    Some other notes:

Dogs are the most loyal of creatures. Once it recognizes you as his/her master, it’d never leave your side. Large ones have the tendency to defend you if you’re smaller than him/her. (I got in a fight with a bigger kid and my dog suddenly atttacked my opponent. What a sight.)
On times you are sad, you’d see them right beside you as if trying to cheer you up. (Happened to me a lot back then.)

Simply put, they are hard to take care of and owning one is such a responsibility but the rewards are great and irreplacable.

I suggest you go with the plan and get yourself a cute little one.

If you’re scared of most dogs then think carefully about getting one, even a small one. If you have a dog, and you look after it properly, you will very often come into contact with other dogs and if that’s going to make you uncomfortable you may want to consider a different type of pet.

The best place to get any dog is your local animal shelter which is around 400 or less

Cost of owning a dog is listed here
